Royal Icing
(egg free)


Ingredients
5 Tbsp Meringue powder
1 one-pound box confectioner's sugar (about 4 C)

Mix Together
In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment,
beat the meringue powder and scant 1//2 C water on low.
Add Confectioner's sugar, scrape sides, and beat until soft peaks
form, about 10 minutes. To thin icing for filling in shapes,
add a little more water.

Substitutes
In this recipe, meringue powder is substituted for traditional
egg white to eliminate the risk of using raw eggs.
